Seriously good value for money, my plumber who fitted it couldn’t believe that I got such a good product at the price I paid… Also the delivery said 5-7 days, got it in 2 working days… couldn’t be happier

|Performs well above expectations for the price!,
We bought this – on the strength of the one review available on Amazon at the time – as a speedy expedient to replace a rather more splendid looking tap which just would not stop dripping. We reasoned that if it turned out to be not much good, at least it wouldn’t drip while we looked round for a better one.
But we don’t need to look for a better one! It functions smoothly and, as it’s quite low to the sink (but high enough to get a pan or jug under) unlike its taller, flashier predecessor, it doesn’t splash. So it’s gonna stay ‘cos we like it a lot.
If you’re fitting it yourself, a point to be aware of is that the two threaded rods holding it in place are located behind the flexible hoses (when viewed from in front of the sink unit)so they have to be tightened blind and in a restricted space. You’ll need a 10mm box spanner.

|Trushopping tap,
Bought this tap to replace a Carron Pheonix tap that was losing its enamel after 10 years service. It lasted a week before I replaced it with an Abode tap and asked for a refund. What was wrong?
1) The spout rotated freely ‘out of the box’ but was very stiff when mounted on the sink. So stiff that the tap kept loosening itself when the spout was moved. Securing plate about half the thickness of a decent tap and bends easily. (The mounting hole on the sink was NOT too large – just big enough to get the hoses through).
2) One of the hoses leaked at the hose/tap joint.
3) Cold mains water had a funny taste that wasn’t there before it was fitted, and wasn’t there after it was changed to the Abode tap.
Maybe it was just my tap, but I won’t go for a cheap one again. Buy cheap, buy twice. To their credit hey did give me a full refund.
